The international jury

We are happy to welcome quite an exclusive circle of experts within our jury. The international jury members are:

  • Elise Co, design and technology consultant, Aeolab, Los Angeles
  • Axel Vogelsang, art and technology researcher, Central Saint Martins College, London
  • Juerg Lehni, independent designer, developer and artist, Zurich, London, Tokyo

The Jury looked at all the submissions, and judged them according to the original value of the idea, the media-specific way of making, and esthetic criteria.

After a thorough discussion, the jury decided for these winners:

Golden Pixel
The golden Pixel goes to "Im Herzen des Lebens" by Nicolas Schaltegger and Valentin Merz. The prize is given mainly because of the touching ambiance and atmosphere of the submission. The jury liked the multi-layered narration that permits many associations, and is yet clear and unambigous, emotionally .

Special Prize of the Jury
The Special Prize of the Jury goes to "Archivar" by Jan Walentek. This submission convinced the jury by its poetic quality, and the deep examiniation of its subjects heart, pain, love and sex.

The audience award
The international audience has elected the trilogy "Atom Heart Lover" by Ariane Lia very clearly as the winner of the audience award. Also the jury was impressed by this work.

The Heartbeat-Award
The Heart beat-Award goes to "Panic Attack" by Ted Davis. This charming hack captivates the jury by its simple and media-specific way of making.

The Heart-Decision of the Jury
The Jury give their heart-decision-prize to "Heads or Hearts" by Simon Hauser and David Schwarz. This interactive submission deals with a very basic topic of human essence: the competition between rational and emotional motives. The Jury liked the very simple and yet striking way this work was done.
